#BringBackOurGirls calls for govt intervention - Herdsmen attack

Worried by the reported numerous attacks by Fulani herdsmen in the country, the

#BringBackOurGirls (BBOG) group has called on the federal government to intervene before the attacks get out of hand.
Speaking during the sit-out of the group, one of its members, Edith Yassin, stated that the issue has become a big problem adding that if it is not tackled now might escalate to crises that can be even bigger than the Boko Haram sect.
“The government seems to be indifferent. We are also worried over the level of proliferation of arms in the country. It has become a huge problem. If it is allowed, it will spread. Boko Haram was mostly in the Northeast but this Fulani herdmen attack is all over Nigeria,” she said.
Also speaking, another member, Aisha Yesufu blamed the rise of the attacks to silence by the government adding that even when there is a response, it was not commensurate with the problem on ground.
