Buhari has reduced Boko Haram capacities: US

speaking at a joint press conference with his Nigerian counterpart, Geoffrey Onyeama The United States government has acknowledged the efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari administration to bring to an end, the activities of terrorist group, Boko Haram. The US government’s position was made known by its secretary of state, John Kerry, who made the remark at a joint press conference with Nigeria’s foreign affair minister, Geoffrey Onyeama.
Speaking on the activities of the terrorist group, Kerry said: ”It is an outrage that any group, anywhere, will brian wash young people, including little girls, to strap explosives to their bodies and walk into an open market place with the intent of murdering their own families, neighbours, and themselves, that is what Boko Haram does.” He informed those at the briefing that the American and Nigerian government are cooperating to defeat the terrorist group, adding that ”the group still remains a threat.” Kerry stated that Nigeria’s progress is vital to the US government and to all of Africa. On his part, Onyeama told his American counterpart that President Buhari has delivered his promise to defeat the terrorist group. ”We have indeed defeated them technically and militarily. What we do have now is what happens in a number of countries around the world. Suicide bombers, using young girls and having themselves blow up in markets places, using improvised devices, ” Onyeama said.
