Fire destroys Ladipo market - In Lagos

 

      50 shops in the popular Ladipo market, in Mushin Local Government Area of

Lagos state, has been destroyed by fire.

Vanguard reports that 100 traders were also displaced as a result of the inferno.

Reports say the fire incident was caused by a power surge from an electric pole that fell on some of the shops.

Some traders also claimed that the fire started around 3am on Wednesday, April 20, 2016.

A businessman reportedly lost N350,000 which he left in a safe in his shop.

One of the traders Mr. Felix Okoro said “We tried putting out the fire before it escalated with over 50 industrial fire extinguishers, but all efforts proved abortive.”
