Sen. Orji review Nigerians back to agriculture
Deputy Chairman, Senate Committee on Agriculture and Senator representing Abia Central, Theodore Orji, at
the weekend, urged Nigerians to go back to active farming, as agriculture represents the future for the nation.
The governor made the call when he empowered members of his constituency by donating farming tools and kits to them.
Among the tools donated were China-made liquid fertilizers machines, said to have the capacity to improve output in three folds.
An expert Okechukwu Ndukwe later demonstrated the application procedure of the machine to the beneficiaries.
According to Orji, the gesture was part of the efforts by government to re-introduce practical farming as was effected by the late Abia son, Micheal Okpara, when he was premier of the defunct Eastern region of Nigeria.
